An exiting line-up of nine FREE outdoor summer concerts for 2012!

Six concerts by Park Ridge Fine Arts Symphony, a 50-piece ensemble made up of the finest free-lance professional musicians in the Chicago area, conducted by PFRAS Music Director Barbara Schubert.

Two concerts by the Brian Patti Big Band – July 3 at Maine East High School and August 3 in Hodges Park.

PLUS a special bonus concert sponsored by the Park Ridge Recreation and Park District.

All concerts are at 8 pm in Hodges Park, in front of Park Ridge City Hall, except July 3.

Friday, June 22 • European Holiday • with the Park Ridge Fine Arts Symphony

Travel to Scotland, France, Italy, and the capitals of Eastern Europe on our opening concert, with popular and colorful works by Mendelssohn, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, and Liszt. PRFAS principal trumpet player Ross Beacraft lends a special flair to the evening with Arban's brilliantly virtuosic Carnival of Venice.

Friday, June 29 • Adventures of Don Juan • with the Park Ridge Fine Arts Symphony

Composers through the ages have crafted masterpieces around the legend of Don Juan, that fictional libertine with irresistible charm! Our program features ballet music from Gluck's Don Juan, selections from Mozart's Don Giovanni – with baritone Jeffrey Ray and soprano Patrice Michaels – and a medley celebrating the modern incarnation of the rogue, James Bond.

Tuesday, July 3 • Patriotic Salute • with the Brian Patti Big Band, at Maine East High School

Celebrate the 4th of July holiday with the Brian Patti Big Band, in a special patriotic program presented at the Maine East High School Athletic Field. Fireworks to follow!

Friday, July 6 • Symphonic Swing • with the Park Ridge Fine Arts Symphony

A nostalgic journey through the Big Band Era and beyond, with music of Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Hoagy Carmichael, and more, all arranged for the splendorous colors of full symphony orchestra. You'll be tapping your toes and humming those legendary tunes!

Friday, July 13 • Latin American Fiesta • with the Park Ridge Fine Arts Symphony

A south-of-the-border celebration, featuring works by North American and Latin American composers – Gershwin Gershwin and Morton Gould, plus Lecuona, Fernandez, and Ginastera – along with familiar folk tunes and lively dance melodies from the rich and varied cultures of Central and South America.

Friday, July 20 • Stage and Screen • with the Park Ridge Fine Arts Symphony

Favorite medleys from the Golden Age of Broadway, plus a tribute to the great Hollywood film composers of our time. Music of Lerner and Loewe, Rogers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and John Williams, with PRFAS concertmaster Stephen Boe performing music from the award-winning score to Schindler's List.

Friday, July 27 • A Triumphant Finale • with the Park Ridge Fine Arts Symphony

Guest conductor James Setapen closes the Park Ridge Fine Arts Society's six-concert orchestral season with a triumphant program that includes Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, plus soprano Nathalie Colas singing famous arias of Gounod and Lehar.

Frank Sinatra Through the Decades, presented by the ever-popular Brian Patti Big Band.

Friday, August 10 • Special Bonus Concert • with the Rob Parton Big Band
